We live in a world that expects us to learn the basics, nothing more. We live in a culture that expects us to get by, like potty train or tie shoelaces, etc, but not thrive.
Question: Have you reached your limits or are you just merely at a point where our world's expectations no longer demand that you succeed?
Am I unable to do certain things or am I just unwilling to sacrifice the time and effort needed to succeed?
By labelling ourselves as "not a people kind of person" or "not a math person" or "im just a dumb blonde", we're blocking ourselves from flying higher. We're imprisoning and giving ourselves reasons to not succeed.
When we were young and while we were potty training, we didn't say " I can't. I'm just not a toilet person". No. No matter how hard it was, we still managed to get through. But as the years get more recent, the world gives excuses for not being able to accomplish things, excuses for not even trying to do things that we THINK is hard. Break free from the stereotypical mould the world has set for us. No. It's pathetic, we teens aren't just rebellious, emotional and lethargic kids. No. That's just the conclusion these people get from observing psycho/mental teenage kids! Seriously.
We shouldn't compare ourselves with our peers. Our standards will eventually sink lower and lower while our pride goes higher and higher.
C.S Lewis once said : " We're like eggs at present. You can't go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. It's either you hatch, or you go bad/rotten."
I gotta stop comparing myself to others, go after God and do hard things.
Hmm..now that alone is hard enough. D:
